Château du Bois-Orcan, en Noyal-sur-Vilaine
|
|
This was to be the highlight of our trip a guided tour around this very picturesque and well restored property. The hospitality was so generous towards us and a champange reception. This visit finished off what had been a very interesting and enjoyable visit to Brittany.
The gardens are open to the public

Built in the 14th to the 15th centuries, the Chateau was once the home of Julien Thierry, who was in the service of Anne de Bretagne. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna%2C_Duchess_of_Brittany

http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/aboutHenryVII.htm
Henry Tudor stayed here for several years as a teenager, before returning to England and becoming King Henry VII.
In 1483 whilst attempting to get to England he was driven back by a storm and took shelter at Jersey where Clement Le Hardy served him well and was rewarded following the Battle of Bosworth with being made Bailiff of the Island.
