"Memory in Progress"

This is an art installation within some derelict weavers cottages that was created by the Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata otherwise the buildings were to be demolished. "He expressed the wish to preserve them, for they too, on a par with the merchant’s house, tell of the econmic, social and cutual history which form Saint-Thélo’s identity."

The next posts will be from the Societe Jersiaise history section trip to Brittany in 2007.

Our trip started by coach from St Malo to Quimper, we stopped for lunch at St Thelo, the food and service was exceptional value for a set menu of 18 euros, with wine.

Sorry about the lack of new photos, just been busy with other things, and doing jobs that other people should be doing.

Nice to see you adding content to the web again!
Cheers

“Seashore amble around St Aubin”

A low tide walk with the Societe Jersiaise around St Aubin meeting at La Haule Slip at 2:00pm on Saturday 27th October. A chance to discover the importance of these unique tidal flats and the marine life they support. Wellies essential! All welcome.

The area is under threat with the States looking into making the area a dump and reclaimation site.

Hi Nick

I was wondering if you keep records of your original photos? If you do is there any chance you could email me a shot you took of me in higher definition - picture 6 on page 19 (submitted 30 October 2005). No worries if not - I wouldn't expect you to keep records that far back but would be good if you did.

Many thanks
Chris
